Can you wash inserts and cloth diapers together?
Wash dirty diapers and diaper covers in a load separate from your other laundry.
You can wash the diapers and the diaper covers together unless they have different washing instructions from their manufacturer.
Make sure the diapers are very well rinsed.
The rinse water should be completely soap-free by the last cycle.
How do you wash a cloth diaper?
Regular wash routine:
- If soiled, use a diaper sprayer to remove poop from diaper.
- Toss into a dry pail; wash every day or every other day.
- Wash no more than 12 – 18 larger size or adjustable size diapers at a time.
- Use your washer’s highest water level.
- Pre-rinse with cold water and no detergent.
How do you clean pocket diaper inserts?
For step one, do a “speed wash” cycle using cold water, a small amount of detergent, and a scoop of OxiClean. Once that first wash is done, check that inserts have come out of any pocket diapers, and if there are any Velcro or Aplix closure diapers in the load, make sure that the fold-back tabs are still secured.
Do you rinse cloth diapers before washing?
These diapers need to be washed and dried 3 to 6 times before their first use so some patience will be necessary. Multiple washes help rinse out the natural oils and achieve maximum absorbency. On this note, be sure to prewash natural fabrics separate to avoid natural oils getting into the synthetics.
