Is it OK to wash sheets and towels together?
The simple answer is no, you should not wash your dirty sheets and towels together in the same load of laundry.
What setting to wash towels and sheets?

How do you wash towels in the washing machine?
To wash towels, put them in your washing machine and add half the recommended amount of laundry detergent, since too much soap can make your towels less fluffy. If you’re washing new towels, you can also add a ½ to 1 cup of white vinegar to minimize color bleeding.
What setting to wash towels?
Wash towels on “high” with the hottest water you can. Add bleach (for white towels) or vinegar to the rinse cycle at least every few times you wash the towels. If towels are coming out dingy, increase the water temperature and use bleach. Make sure you are using a quality detergent.

Both Dr. Tierno and Dr. Gerba recommend washing them every two to three days. The American Cleaning Institute gives a little more leeway, recommending towels be washed after three or four “normal uses,” allowed to fully dry before they are used again.
What thread count sheets do hotels use?
120-170: Thin sheets where the usage calls for material of a more basic nature, often found in hospitals. 200: A cool and light cotton mostly used in summer. Found in many hotels where the requirement is cool, crisp bed linen within a budget.
What setting do you dry bed sheets on?
When possible, dry sheets on an outside clothesline but out of direct sun. If drying in the clothes dryer, use a low heat setting to minimize damage from high temperatures. Remove the sheets from the dryer as soon as the cycle is over, and fold them, smoothing wrinkles with your hands.
Should bath towels be washed in hot water?

The best way to wash towels is with warm water and color-safe bleach (if needed) for colored towels. Use hot water and nonchlorine bleach (if needed) for white towels. White towels should be washed separately or with other white items to avoid subtle discoloration over time.
Can you use vinegar and laundry detergent together?
You can absolutely use vinegar and laundry detergent in the same load, but you cannot mix them together. If you’re using detergent, add the vinegar to the rinse cycle after the detergent is out. Otherwise, you’ll get oily clothes.
How do you deep clean towels?
Give towels a deep cleaning to make sure they aren’t harboring bacteria.
- Wash 3-4 towels per load in hot water on the longest setting with an extra rinse. Use your regular green detergent plus 1 cup of washing soda or baking soda.
- Dry the towels on the hottest cycle (heavy-duty) and make sure they are completely dry.
Should I use fabric softener on towels?
Liquid Fabric Softener. Like fabric softener, dryer sheets contain oils that can coat towel fibers and destroy their absorbency. So, don’t use them when drying your towels. They’ll reduce static electricity and help soften your towels—and they’re more effective than dryer balls that you can buy.
