How do you wash organdy fabric?
Organdy can be washed in a machine with cold water, although I’d prefer to wash it by hand as I fret about the agitator making mincemeat of it. Hang on a line to drip dry and it can be ironed – but turn the iron down if your organdy is made from nylon and not cotton.
Does organza shrink?
After the first wash, it can shrink, and not always the same in all directions! Some people prefer not to wash their organza products, as it can change the look and handle of the fabric. It usually makes it much softer. If this is the case, then this first step isn’t necessary as dry-cleaning won’t shrink the fabric.
What kind of fabric is organza?

What is the difference between organdy and organza fabric?
The main difference between these two fabrics is the fiber content. The weave of both organdy and organza is an open “plain weave“so the production of the fabric is the same. Organza is another light, sheer fabric with a crisp finish but rather than cotton it is made out of silk, polyester, or a combination of the two.
Can organza be ironed?
Although you can spread your organza on an ironing board or hang it on a wire hanger, the rounded pole lessens any further creases from setting in. If the label recommends no ironing or a very cool iron, try steaming the fabric to remove the wrinkles.
