Can you wash Sunbrella cushion covers in the washing machine?
To clean these removable pieces, you can wash them by hand or toss them in the washing machine. To hand wash, soak the fabric in a solution of 1/4 cup mild soap per gallon of lukewarm water. Sunbrella can also be machine washed in cold water with a mild detergent. Always allow Sunbrella to air dry.
How do you clean Sunbrella fabric?
For easy day-to-day maintenance of your Sunbrella fabric:
- Brush off loose dirt.
- Spray on a cleaning solution of water and mild soap.
- Use a soft bristle brush to clean.
- Allow cleaning solution to soak into the fabric.
- Rinse thoroughly until all soap residue is removed.
- Air dry.
Can I wash my Sunbrella umbrella in the washing machine?
If your umbrella fabric is removable, like ours, you can launder them in your washing machine! For removable Sunbrella fabric umbrella covers, machine wash in cold water (less than 100°F/38°C). Depending on your load size, use normal amounts of laundry soap. Drying your fabrics in the dryer is NOT recommended.
Can you wash upholstery fabric in the washing machine?
While most removable upholstery can go into the washing machine, some fabrics require professional cleaning. Consult the care label to ensure that the fabric in question is preshrunk and colorfast. If not, refrain from laundering it in the washing machine, as untreated fabrics can bleed colors and shrink when washed.
